Hypnotherapy
and NLP.
Hypnosis is as old as mankind. The old myths and misconceptions
about hypnosis have given way to proven, scientifically sound applications.
Today, the use of hypnosis is seen in a variety of fields, including : medicine,
dentistry, law enforcement, professional sports and education.
How do you have a 95% success rate when Nicotine Replacement
therapy is nowhere near that high?
Studies have shown that nicotine replacement therapy is 10-20% effective.
Another thing to bear in mind is that there are approx 4,000 chemicals
in cigarettes; nicotine replacement therapy addresses only one. The beauty
of my unique approach using a combination of the most advanced hypnosis
techniques is that it removes the sense of deprivation felt by people
who try to give up using other methods. It removes the need and the desire
to smoke. Each session is a confidential, individual 1 to 1 session where
the programme is tailored to each individual client’s needs.
How does hypnosis work?
Our minds work on 2 levels – the conscious and the unconscious.
We make decisions, think, and act with our conscious mind. The unconscious
mind controls our habits. In the relaxed state known as hypnosis, we can
communicate directly with the unconscious mind. This is why it is so quick
and easy to change habits of a lifetime with hypnosis.
Can I be hypnotized?
Generally speaking, every normal person is ‘hypnotisable’.
That is, people with an IQ of at least 70, and no severe mental disorders.
Another issue could be the inability or unwillingness of the client to
let go. We tell all our clients – you must really want to quit smoking,
otherwise you’re wasting your time and money. How do I know I’ve
been hypnotized?
The perception some have of hypnosis is that it is similar to being ‘knocked
out’. This is not actually the case. Most people cannot tell the
difference between the hypnotized and the waking states. Some people feel
relaxed and lethargic, others feel lightness. One thing that people DO
notice is an inexplicable change in their daily behaviours.
Is hypnosis safe?
Hypnosis is completely safe. You are aware and in control at
every moment and can terminate the session at any time. Hypnosis is not
sleep, nor can you get ‘stuck’ in a state of hypnosis. You
cannot be made to do something against your will during a clinical hypnosis
session. Hypnosis is a safe, relaxing and enjoyable experience.
What is NLP?
NLP is both an attitude and a methodology. It’s an attitude because
it involves a deep curiosity about how something works. It’s a methodology
because it involves the extraction and replication of human excellence.
Both of these combined provide superb techniques. It’s a difficult
methodology to explain but, at its basic level, NLP evolved from the study
of what works in creating excellence, discarding the unnecessary, enabling
anyone to simply learn to achieve results normally worthy of an expert.
Most the early techniques evolved in NLP resulted from the boiling down
to the bare bones the successful approaches of superb therapists and passing
them on to others.
What makes this effective combined with hypnotherapy?
What makes it effective is that we employ subtle, but nonetheless powerful
language patterns that, when combined with hypnosis, dramatically increases
the client’s chances of accepting the non-smoking message in the
unconscious mind and acting on it.
Is this not mumbo jumbo?
The British Medical Association and the American Medical Association don’t
think so! In the US, in particular, hypnotherapy is widely used. For instance
dentists use it regularly – as just one example. Hypnosis has always
been a superb stop smoking method and in new scientific studies where
it has been included – New Scientist Study, to be precise –
it always comes out on top.
How does hypnosis help me to kick the smoking habit?
Because smoking is a habit, it is controlled by the unconscious
mind. Since hypnosis and NLP work directly with the unconscious, this
is the only method that makes sense! We can help you effortlessly transition
into the healthy lifestyle of a happy non-smoker.
